A textile designer has created a way to upcycle discarded eggshells and transform them into sparkling wall tiles. Elaine Yan Ling Ng’s collection is inspirational, cool and funky.

The collection entitled CArrelé, is a play on words “to tile” in French and calcium carbonate—eggshells main component. Elaine works for Nature Squared a London based brand that is retransforming materials through nature’s elements.

Decaying eggshells can produce bad outcomes: odours, flies, and methane emissions. Nature Squared’s work is an innovative way to put them to good use before they rot.
