The Property Platform for the Planet

The Property Platform for the Planet

Founder Joseph Sharp wants to create the world’s first cooperative and sustainable platform for short-term rentals—an industry worth €140bn.

The word Sustayn is a mix of “sustainable” and “stay”, providing an eco-alternative to Airbnb.

5 Conscious Tips for Travelers

The platform provides consumers with sustainable accomodations whilst also allocating a percentage of its profits to climate solutions or local conservation projects. The host can actually control where the booking fee goes to, and has an array of “causes” to choose from. Alternatively, they also have the option to fundraise for a cause in their locality.

Currently sustayn aims to redirect 50% of its commissions, with the ultimate goal to increase this number as the platform grows.

The user experience provides the guest with a list of insights into the property’s sustainable ammenities eg. whether or not it has a compost, it recycles, it has eco-washing, an EV-charging station and so on.. The platform also encourages guests to leave feedback on how the host could improve.

Respectively, Sustatyn encourages hosts to provide tips about how guests can have a positive impact in the area they are visiting.

Sustayn is now only live for testing and early users.
