Benki Piyãko will be in England as part of his 2023 European Tour and is joining the Earthed Summit, which celebrates the transformative power of ecosystem restoration and our human potential to restore nature. We feel this is a great opportunity for Benki and his family to deepen their relationships in the UK, so we would like to invite you to an intimate gathering with Benki and his family at Worlingham Hall, an estate near Beccles in Suffolk.

We envisage a relaxing day with space to deeply connect with Benki’s unique ideas of environmental protection and restoration, which have been formed through the ancestral worldview of the Ashaninka people.

A 12pm arrival will lead to a long lunch of locally sourced food. There will be time to talk and listen to Benki in the afternoon, as well as to walk around the extensive property surrounding Worlingham Hall. Drinks and dinner will be provided in the evening before a concert by Benki’s son Raine, who recently released his first album. We will close the gathering at 10pm.

We believe gatherings like this can strengthen the environmental movement by deepening the connections between those who are part of it. We hope this day can be a moment of connection, with Benki and his family, and with like minded people and organisations who are restoring and protecting nature in the UK.

This wisdom holds important messages for our evolving individual and collective relationship with nature, and with great relevance in this time of environmental challenges. Benki and his family generously share their wisdom in support of the global community for nature protection and regeneration, to strengthen this network through cultural exchange and shared prayer. We are very grateful to receive Benki at Worlingham Hall, offering this precious exchange between worldviews, and the opportunity to further foster our own connection with local flora and fauna and the land itself.

Benki Piyãko, an Indigenous leader and environmental activist, is in England as part of his 2023 European tour. This dinner we join his global environmental efforts, a coming together of allies, across nations and disciplines, to create relationships to strengthen international climate action.

Benki is a leader of the Ashaninka People whose territory is on the frontline of the deforestation crisis in the Amazon Rainforest. Benki has focused on reforestation initiatives for more than 20 years, and his efforts have led to more than three million trees being planted. He has earned global recognition for his groundbreaking efforts to protect and restore degraded land, as well as his tireless focus on the rights of Indigenous Peoples and the preservation of their land and heritage. This work has led Benki and his Ashaninka community Apiwtxa to win the United Nations Development Programme’s Equator Prize in 2017.

The dinner will be held at the Cavita Restaurant, with traditional Mexican cuisine. A central part of our night will be a concert by Raine Piyãko.
