Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

What is the CDP?

The CDP is an international organization and registered charity which supports companies and cities to disclose the environmental impact of major corporations in order to gather data and drive sustainable action.

Vision: to see a long term thriving economy for both people and planet.

Mission: To do this the CDP runs the global disclosure system that enables companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage environmental impacts. Creating the world’s most comprehensive collection of environmental data.

By 2018 the CDP worked with 7,000+ companies, 620+ cities, 120 states and regions.

How does it work?

3 steps

  1. The Disclosers: CDP asks companies, cities, states, and regions for data on their environmental performance
  2. The CDP: transforms the data into detailed analysis on critical environmental risks, opportunities and impacts
  3. Decision-makers: investors, businesses and policy makers use the data and insights to make better decisions, manage risk and capitalize on opportunities.
