Whales are an irreplaceable part of the ocean’s ability to regulate the atmosphere. They provide essential nutrients that increase ocean productivity and plankton, which expand fish stocks, increase oxygen, reduce carbon and thus alleviate climate change. Unintentional collisions with ships are now understood to be the primary cause of mortality of whales, pushing these critical species to the brink of extinction.

Understanding this, we are hosting a dinner to bring together the shipping community of Greece with the Great Whale Conservancy — an NGO that protects whales — to discuss clear and achievable solutions to this global issue.

This will be an intimate gathering soundtracked by the late, great composer: Peter Zinovieff’s blue whale recordings (courtesy of The Association for Depth Sound Recordings.) Followed by a delicious a delicious greek feast, copious amounts of wine and mastica, all to foster great conversations that can bring tangible solutions to save whale lives.

If we can count on your presence please purchase a ticket directly.
