No Music on a Dead PlanetMusic Declares Emergency is a group of artists, music industry professionals and organisations.

No Music on a Dead Planet

We call on all those within the industry to join us in declaring a climate emergency and to work towards making the cultural and operational changes necessary to contribute towards a carbon neutral future.

Launched in 2019 in the UK, Music Declares Emergency is an independent group that believes in the power of music to promote the necessary cultural changes for a regenerative future—pretty up our alley!

MDE is led by individuals united by their deep concern for the climate and ecological emergency. With a mission to green the music industry and encourage artists to speak out and create their own work surrounding the climate crisis. Their partner organization Julie’s Bicycle, consults companies within the industry eager to partake.

Throughout 2021 and 2022, MDE’s campaign NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET calls for urgent climate action.

“harnessing the influence and reach of artists and fans to bring this conversation into the mainstream”

MUSIC DECLARES EMERGENCY RADIO SHOW

The Radio Show to change our culture. MDE’s work culminates in a radio show hosted by Fay Milton—Savages drummer and MDE co-founder—and folk singer Sam Lee. Together, they host two hours of music and chats with special guests from various backgrounds: activism, music, science and the greater creative community. The show hopes to tell the truth on the climate emergency.
